Round Three

Sunday Evening Update:
Both kids are on the mend and starting to eat crackers and toast and drink Gatorade. Now it is Mommy's turn.

Monday Morning Update:
LONG night for Mommy. I was sick all night long. Elias came in our room at about 6am (he has never gotten out of bed like that before) saying that his legs hurt really bad and could he have some Gatorade. Jordan H.- is that just the electrolyte imbalance because he was so dehydrated the day before?
Hopefully today will be a better day, we will each get stronger as the hours go by, and Adaryll will still manage to dodge this one. He went to his discipleship group this morning but is coming back home to tend to us the rest of the day.

I am so sorry to hear you all are sick. That's no fun. I'll say some prayers that you all get better soon. I was going to just email you, but realized I don't have your email just the blog address. The name of the website where we got the toys is liquidation.com They sell all sorts of stuff on there. I don't know if they have a distribution site in Texas or not. We had to go get our stuff at the one in Plainfield.
Take care!

Jen - I think you are right on. Was his pain muscular/crampy or deep bone/joint pain? Low sodium and potassium levels from vomiting can cause muscular leg pain and can be treated as you are doing with gatorade and re-starting soft foods (as tolerated by Elias).

However, if he continues to vomit and have pain in his legs, I would get him into your pediatrician tomorrow. Your peds doc may want need to do some bloodwork in this case.

I would be encouraged that Elias is asking for gatorade (his way of helping himself replenish the electrolytes he is deficient in). Hopefully the leg pain will clear up as he gets back to himself and boosts his sodium and potassium (calcium and magnesium as well). I hope this helps. I will look forward to hearing how Elias is doing tonight/tomorrow! You are in my prayers. Hang in there...

There is nothing worse than the "family bug". On the up side, it sounds like one of those that spreads fast and is over quickly. We will sure keep you all in prayer.
